JALALABAD (Pajhwok): An unexploded ordnance explosion in eastern Nangarhar province has killed one child and injured another, police said on Wednesday.
In a statement, the Police headquarters said the incident occurred in the Qatraghai area of Rodat district on Tuesday.
It said the children had found the ordnance while grazing livestock when it detonated, killing one child and injuring a girl.
It added security forces reached the area, transferred the injured child to hospital and handed over the body of the deceased to his family.
The statement urged people to avoid approaching unexploded devices and to inform security forces if they come across such objects.
