KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s national under-20 football team departed for Tajikistan on Saturday to participate in the 2026 Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) U-20 Championship.
The Afghanistan Football Federation said on its Facebook page that the national U-20 squad had travelled to Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, for the regional tournament.
The championship will be hosted by Tajikistan from May 12 to 17 and will feature teams from Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Afghanistan will begin its campaign against Turkmenistan on May 12.
The team is scheduled to face Uzbekistan on May 13, Tajikistan on May 15 and Kyrgyzstan in its final group-stage match on May 17.
