KABUL (Pajhwok): The Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs has traveled to Saudi Arabia to oversee arrangements for Afghan pilgrims and monitor the services being provided to them during the Hajj season.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, Dr. Mawlawi Noor Mohammad Saqib will closely supervise accommodation, transportation, food distribution, healthcare services, and religious guidance for Afghan pilgrims in Mecca, Medina, and other holy sites.
He is also expected to review the implementation of measures taken to ensure the organized transfer of pilgrims to the sacred sites.
The statement added that the minister will provide necessary guidance and recommendations to committee officials to improve coordination and ensure effective management of Hajj-related affairs.
In addition, Saqib will participate in official conferences and meetings organized by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. During these engagements, he is expected to meet with representatives from Islamic countries, Hajj and Umrah officials, and contracting companies to discuss improving Hajj management, expanding services for pilgrims, and strengthening mutual cooperation.
The Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs said that, alongside hundreds of employees from contracting companies, members of the Afghan Hajj mission are actively working in committees responsible for food services, transportation, religious guidance, missing persons, deaths, and other related matters.
The ministry emphasized that these efforts are aimed at ensuring Afghan pilgrims can perform their Hajj rituals in an organized, peaceful, and comfortable environment.
