KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs says it has summoned representatives of tourism and pilgrimage companies over allegations of illegally issuing work visas to Turkey and other countries through black-market networks.
Samiullah Ebrahimi, spokesperson for the ministry, said in a video statement that officials and representatives of the companies were asked to provide written guarantees that they would no longer charge people fees for obtaining work visas.
He said the companies were also warned against engaging in any illegal activities related to overseas work visas.
The ministry further instructed the companies to fully cooperate in investigations into public complaints and to avoid any unlawful practices in this regard.
Ebrahimi urged citizens not to fall victim to fraud and deception, warning them not to hand over their documents or money to any individual, company or unauthorized source for such purposes.
