KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan athlete Mohammad Zahir Sarwari has won a bronze medal at the 15th Asian Kurash Championships, the Afghanistan Kurash, Sambo and Rustami Wrestling Federation said on Monday.
Sayed Mohammad Zia Dashti, head of the federation, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Sarwari secured the bronze medal in the 100kg weight category.
Meanwhile, two other Afghan athletes, Mirajuddin Chakmar and Zabihullah Ahsani, also won bronze medals at the tournament a day earlier.
According to the General Directorate of Olympic, Physical Education and Sports, the championships are being hosted by Tajikistan and feature athletes from 28 countries.
A total of six Afghan athletes are participating in the competition.
