KABUL (Pajhwok): Belgium defeated New Zealand by 5–1, while Egypt and Iran played out a 1–1 draw in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup matches.

According to reports, matches between Belgium and New Zealand, as well as Egypt and Iran, were played on Saturday morning.
In the first match, Belgium secured a dominant 5–1 victory over New Zealand. Leandro Trossard scored twice in the 28th and 50th minutes. Kevin De Bruyne added a third goal in the 66th minute, Romelu Lukaku scored in the 86th minute, and Alexis Saelemaekers netted in the fourth minute of stoppage time (90+4).
New Zealand’s only goal was scored by Elijah Just.
In the other match, Egypt and Iran drew 1–1. Egypt took the lead through Mahmoud Saber in the 5th minute, while Iran equalised via Ramin Rezaeian in the 14th minute.
