KABUL (Pajhwok): At least three Pakistani security personnel have been killed and two others injured after armed men attacked a Rangers headquarters in the southern port city of Karachi, media reports said on Sunday.

Four attackers were also killed in the assault on the Rangers compound in the Gulistan-i-Jauhar area on Saturday evening, Al Jazeera reported.

According to reports, around five armed men stormed the paramilitary facility after a suspected suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the entrance, causing a powerful blast.

Security forces later cordoned off the area and launched a clearance operation involving special forces, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and Rangers personnel.

A faction linked to Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a splinter group of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claimed responsibility for the attack.
