HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Police have arrested a woman in connection with the death of an 18-month-old child who fell from the fifth floor of a building in western Herat province, an official said on Saturday.
Police spokesman Sayed Masood Hussaini said the woman was arrested by security forces last Thursday following the incident.
He said the woman worked as a cleaner at the family’s home and was employed there alongside two other women.
Hussaini added that preliminary investigations indicated the woman allegedly threw the child from the fifth floor due to personal disputes and resentment between her and the two other women.
He said the child died in the incident.
According to Hussaini, the woman confessed to committing the act during preliminary investigations.
He said the case had been referred to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
