Afghan trade delegation meets Iran Chamber deputy chief

KABUL (Pajhwok): An Afghan trade delegation has met with Qadir Qiafeh, deputy head of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, to discuss expanding economic and trade cooperation, facilitating visits by business delegations and creating more investment opportunities between the two countries.

In a statement, the Afghanistan-Iran Joint Chamber said Kamaluddin Tawhid, head of the chamber, along with Mirajan Suleimankhel, deputy head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), several board members, Moin Khawafi, commercial attaché at the Afghan Embassy in Tehran, Mahmoud Siadat, head of the Iran-Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce, and a number of traders and investors from both countries met with Qiafeh.

It said that Qiafeh welcomed the Afghan trade delegation’s visit to Iran and described exchanges between traders and business delegations from the two countries as effective in strengthening and developing economic and trade relations.

He also stressed the need to expand trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Siadat provided information about the activities of the Iran-Afghanistan Joint Chamber in sending and receiving trade delegations, particularly in agriculture, industry and other economic sectors, saying such efforts could help expand trade ties between the two countries.

Tawhid, head of the Afghanistan-Iran Joint Chamber, meanwhile called for greater participation by major Iranian companies in the Afghan market and invited Iranian investors to invest in various sectors of Afghanistan’s economy.

The two sides stressed the need to strengthen economic cooperation, facilitate exchanges of trade delegations and create more opportunities for investment and the expansion of trade relations between Afghanistan and Iran.
