KABUL (Pajhwok): Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Asim Munir, will travel to Tehran on Monday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said on Sunday.
According to Iran’s IRNA news agency, Baghaei said the visit would focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Iran and Pakistan and would take place as Islamabad seeks to support peace and security in the region.
Munir will lead an official delegation during the visit and is expected to meet with senior Iranian officials for talks.
The visit comes a day after Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held talks with Munir on the latest regional developments and ways to strengthen peace, stability and security in West Asia.
