KABUL (Pajhwok): Canada has contributed 1.35 million Canadian dollars, equivalent to about $957,000, to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund (AHF), the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said.
In a statement, OCHA thanked Canada for the contribution, saying its continued support would help humanitarian partners reach the most vulnerable people across Afghanistan.
The UN agency said contributions to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund are used to support relief efforts and address the needs of vulnerable people in the country.
“Your continued support helps humanitarian partners reach the most vulnerable people across Afghanistan,” OCHA said.
The contribution comes as UN humanitarian agencies continue to highlight widespread humanitarian needs in Afghanistan and stress the importance of sustained financial support from the international community.
