KABUL (Pajhwok): Al-Azhar University has called for the immediate formation of a mediation committee comprising respected figures from Arab and Islamic countries to help end regional wars and conflicts.
According to a report published on the official website of Egypt’s State Information Service, Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, on Sunday urged Arab and Islamic countries to end the wars and resolve their differences through dialogue.
He warned that the ongoing conflicts were claiming innocent lives, destroying resources and threatening regional stability.
