JALALABAD (PAN): The foundation stone of a building for the department of economy was laid in eastern Laghman province on Tuesday, an official said.
The two storey-building, which will be constructed in the provincial capital Mahtarlam, will be constructed in six months at a cost of 14.2 million afghanis ($305,442), Governor Mohammad Iqbal Azizi said.
Funded by the Ministry of Economy, the building would have 14 rooms and other facilities, the economy department head, Mohammad Agha Mubarez, told, Pajhwok Afghan News.
In neighbouring Kunar province, work on a building for the Sayed Jamaluddin Afghani University was launched. Dean Mir Ahmad Hamid said the university was currently operating in the teachers’ training centre.
With 18 administrative rooms, the structure will be constructed on six acres of land at a cost of $300,000, provided by the Ministry of Higher Education.
