Blast leaves two policemen dead in Nimroz

ZARANJ (PAN): Two policemen were killed and as many others injured in a roadside bombing in the Dilaram district of southwestern Nimroz province, an official said on Friday.

The incident took place in the district bazaar late on Thursday evening, the district chief, Eng. Khudaidad, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The police were on a patrol in the bazaar when came under attack, he said. Two policemen were killed and another two were injured in the remote-controlled blast, he said.

Deputy police chief, Mohammad Musa, said the bomb was planted by the Taliban. The injured were rushed to the Dilaram district hospital, he said.

There was no claim of responsibility for the blast.
