KABUL): A suspected fighter was detained in northern Balkh provinces while weapons and ammunitions were seized in central Kapisa province, the Afghan spy service said on Tuesday.
The detainee was identified as Sher Mohammad, son of Jan Mohammad, a resident of the Alamkhel village. The man has allegedly confessed to being involved in attacks on security forces and having links to rebel outfits.
A statement from the National Directorate of Security said 28 mortar shells, 11 rockets, 50 heavy machine gun bullets, 10 landmines, 4 BM1 bullets, 20 warheads, two grenades, one box of bullets and a jerry canof explosives were recovered in Kapisa province.
