KABUL, an official said on Thursday.
There was no problem in training the police force that had grown in strength and capabilities, said Brig. Gen. Abdul Basir Syedkheli, commander of the Police Training Centre in Kabul.
Addressing a passing-out ceremony for the 195 recruits, the commander ruled out any deterioration in the security situation after 2014. Police had been trained well, he said.
Police would be responsible for providing security during the 2014 presidential election, the official announced, urging the force to win people’s confidence.
Azizullah, one of the graduates, said: “I have learnt different tactics, including shooting and raiding skills, in addition to studying religious subjects. It’ll enable me to service the people.”
