KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): Two soldiers and a civilian were wounded in two separate incidents in the Panjwaee district of southern Kandahar province on Wednesday, an official said.
A foreign soldier and an Afghan policeman were wounded when rebels opened fire on them from nearby trees during a poppy eradication campaign in the Zangabad area of district, the admistrative head of the town said.
Hajji Fazal Mohammad Ishaqzai told Pajhwok Afghan News two police checkpoints were established in the area after attack, he said.
Separately, a civilian was injured when a foreign soldier mistakenly triggered his gun in the Khoni area of the district.
The wounded Mohammad Hanif was taken to hospital immediately by the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), Ishaqzai said.
