KABUL trounced Hong Kong by seven wickets, breezing into the final of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) T20 Cup in Kathmandu, an official said on Tuesday.
The national team won the toss and elected to bowl, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) spokesman, Farid Hotak, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Hong Kong were skittled out for 109 scores, with Hamza Hotak capturing three wickets, Samiullah Shinwari, Mohammad Nabi and Aftab Alam one wicket each.
The ACB spokesman said Afghanistan raced to the target in the 18th over with seven wickets in hand. Najibullah Zadran scored 37 runs, Fazal Rahman 23, Mohammad Nasim 15 and Mohammad Nabi 10.
Afghanistan, the UAE, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain are placed in Group B. Group A includes Nepal, Malaysia, Hong Kong, the Maldives, Malaysia and Singapore.
