KABUL (EUPOL) on Wednesday handed seven police vehicles equipped with modern technology to the Ministry of Interior, officials said.
Acting Interior Minister Mujtaba Patang told a joint press conference with EUPOL chief in Afghanistan, Karl Ake Roghe, the vehicles would be used as part of the Police–i-Mardumi, or community–policing initiative in seven provinces.
The initiative has recently been launched in Balkh, Bamyan, Baghlan, Kunduz, Ghor, Herat and Helmand provinces
Patang said the vehicles worth €900,000 ($1,194,960) carried modern technology of international standards and would be used as mobile offices.
