KABUL (EUPOL) on Wednesday handed seven police vehicles equipped with modern technology to the Ministry of Interior, officials said.

Acting Interior Minister Mujtaba Patang told a joint press conference with EUPOL chief in Afghanistan, Karl Ake Roghe, the vehicles would be used as part of the Policei-Mardumi, or communitypolicing initiative in seven provinces.

The initiative has recently been launched in Balkh, Bamyan, Baghlan, Kunduz, Ghor, Herat and Helmand provinces

Patang said the vehicles worth €900,000 ($1,194,960) carried modern technology of international standards and would be used as mobile offices.
