FIROZKOH (Pajhwok): A roadside bomb blast left police chief of the Dolina district of western Ghor province wounded along with his two bodyguards, an official said on Wednesday.
Habibullah Kunari and his bodyguards suffered injuries while their car they were patrolling in struck a roadside bomb in Shahjoi locality on the outskirts of the district last night, the town’s administrative chief said.
Ahmad Husain Danishyar told Pajhwok Afghan News that a soldier of the Afghan National Army (ANA) died when another bomb exploded after a contingent of ANA rushed to the area to investigate the incident.
Abdul Hadi Chahalghori, crime branch chief of the province, said the district chief was patrolling in the area to ensure security ahead of the fast-approaching runoff vote.
Officials alleged Taliban for planting roadside bombs, which inflicted casualties on civilians and security officials.
