4 girls injured in Pakistani shelling into Kunar

ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Four children of a family were injured after Pakistani forces fired dozens of rockets landing in three districts of eastern Kunar province, security officials said on Friday.

Police chief Birg. Gen. Abdul Habib Syedkhel told Pajhwok Afghan News that about 63 rockets were fired from across the Durand Line since Thursday evening until Friday morning.

Of the long-range rockets, 45 hit Loya Goriga, Wora Goriga, Tabela, Khar and Seyan areas of Dangam district, 15 landed in Sarkano district and the remaining three in Batash area of Nari district.

One of the rockets hit the house of Sher Gul, injuring his four children, all girls of ages from five months to 15 years. Their house was completely destroyed in the attack, the police chief said.

He said a large number of families had fled their homes as a result of the ongoing shelling from Pakistan. Residents had suffered heavy financial losses as well, he continued, urging the central government to prevent the Pakistani aggression.

It was for a second day in a row that Pakistani forces fired rockets. A day earlier, 124 rockets fired from Pakistan hit villages in Dangam, Nari and Shegal districts, inflicting financial losses on residents.
