PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Seven members of a family including three women and a child were killed when a mortar shell hit their house in Baghlan-i-Markazi district of northern Baghlan province, officials said on Sunday.

Governor Gawhar Khan told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban fired the mortar that hit the civilian home at 11:00 before noon.

Seven members of the family including three women, a child and three men were killed and another member was injured. Afghan security forces were trying to locate the firing place and arrest the perpetrators.

A doctor on duty at the Baghlan civil hospital, Khalil Narmgoy,  confirmed receiving seven dead bodies and one injured person at the hospital. He said the injured one was also in critical condition.

The Taliban haven’t commented on the incident.
