KABUL militants killed in a drone strike in central Maidan Wardak province, an official said on Monday.
The governor’s spokesman, Abdul Rahman Mangal, told Pajhwok Afghan News the drone killed Mullah Bashir along with his five accomplices in Narkh district on Sunday.
Bashir, who was Taliban’s chief commander for Maidan Wardak province, was involved in many security incidents, Mangal said.
A security official, who wished to go unnamed, said Mullah Bashir was active in the provincial capital and three districts of the province.
The Taliban have not yet commented about the incident.
