GARDEZ (Pajhwok): At least 15 Taliban insurgents have been killed and two others wounded during an airstrike in the Janikhel district of southeastern Paktai province, an official said on Thursday.
Abdullah Hasrat, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the security forces carried out the air raid in the Kerkay area of the district late on Wednesday night.
He said 15 militants were killed, two others wounded in the attack, which also led to the destruction of two machin guns and some ammunition.
“The operation is ongoing in the area, where militants have suffered huge losses due to the strikes,” he added. The Taliban have not yet commented on the offensive.
