KABUL (Pajhwok): Three civilians were killed and four others injured in a suicide car bombing in capital Kabul on Saturday morning, an official said.
Nasrat Rahimi, deputy spokesman of the Ministry of Interior (MoI), confirmed the bombing that happened at around 9:10am in Park-i-Sanati Kochak area in the limits of ninth police district.
Dr. Waheed Majroh, spokesman for the Ministry of Public Health, said three bodies and four injured people had been evacuated to the forensic medical center.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the suicide car bombing, saying one of the group’s members carried out the attack on a foreign forces’ convoy.
Waheedullah, a taxi driver and an eyewitness, said: “I was getting passengers on to the taxi when the blast took place and a thick smoke engulfed the area and pieces of metal struck my car.”
According to a Pajhwok reporter the blast took place about 30 meters from a foreign forces camp and resulted human and financial losses.
Sakhi Ahmad Paiman, a resident of the locality, said hundreds of factories were located in the area and such incident could result in capital flight.
