KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) on Monday said it has registered 4,528 complaints against presidential candidates regarding law violations during electioneering.
The IEC had said two million and 600,000 votes were cast in the Sept 28 presidential elections across the country.
Hawa Alam Nuristani, IEC head, told a press conference in Kabul that non-biometric votes would never be counted and only biometrically verified votes would be considered as valid.
She said the election bodies were separating clean votes and would announce a transparent result for the nation.
Nusristani said more than 11,000 result sheet had been investigated and cleared and above 85,000 were ready to be investigated center, around 22,000 digital forms had been enrolled to the system and more than 14,500 other forms being processed.
Mualvi Din Mohammad Azimi, IECC deputy chief, said the election bodies were jointly working and cooperating in order announce a transparent result.
He said 4,528 complaints had been registered with them and investigations into them were underway.
The presidential election was held on September 28 and its primary result will be announced on 19th of this month and the final result on 7th of November.
