1 policeman killed, 2 wounded in Khost bombing

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): One policeman was killed and two others were wounded in a roadside bombing in southeastern Khost province on Saturday, an official said.

The explosion took place close to the Mechanical Institute in Khost City, the provincial capital, at around 11am. The blast targeted a police pick-up.

Police spokesman Adil Haidar told Pajhwok Afghan News one policeman was killed and two others were wounded. The injured are said to be in stable condition.

A private hospital doctor said that a dead body and an injured policeman had been brought to the medical facility from the blast site.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing.
