KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 24 people were killed and 57 others wounded in an Islamic State-claimed suicide bombing in Kabul on Saturday.
Tariq Arian, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, tweeted the suicide attack took place in Pul-i-Khuskh area in limits of the 13th police district west of Kabul at around 4:30pm.
The bomber tried to storm the crowded educational centre named “Kawsar” on Saturday evening when security guards intercepted him, the MoI spokesman said.
Arian added the attacker instead detonated his explosives outside the education center.
Zabihullah Mujahid, Taliban’s spokesman, in a tweet denied their involvement in the bombing.
Daesh said in a statement on Telegram it was behind the suicide bombing.
Former president Hamid Karzai strongly condemned the Kabul attack on the Kawsar Danish centre and a landmine explosion in Ghazni province that killed and injured many people.
