JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Three female media workers were killed on Tuesday in two armed attacks in eastern Nangarhar province.
The female employees were reportedly on their way home from office when they were killed in two separate attacks.
Javed Razmand, a reporter for Enikass TV, told Pajhwok Afghan News that their three female colleagues were killed in separate attacks.
A credible source, who did not want to be named, told Pajhwok that the first attack took place at 4pm in downtown Jalalabad.
He added that Mursal, an employee of the TV, was killed in the first attack.
The second incident took place in the second district of Jalalabad city, in which two female employees of the Enikass TV were killed and a female passer-by was wounded.
Golzadeh Sangar, a spokesperson for the Nangarhar hospital, confirmed receiving three wounded females.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the incidents.
The same TV lost its prominent female journalist Malala Maiwand, who was killed in an armed attack in Jalalabad a few months ago.
Attacks on media workers have recently increased in Kabul, Nangarhar and other provinces.
