Car bomb attack foiled in Helmand

LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): An explosives-laden vehicle was destroyed by an airstrike before reaching its target in the Nahr-i-Siraj district of southern Helmand province.

In a statement, the Afghan army’s 215 Maiwand Military Corps said that a vehicle carrying explosives was targeted from the air in 601^stShahra area of the district on Saturday night.

A suicide attacker wanted to target security forces stationed in the area but Afghan Air Force hit and destroyed the vehicle.

Meanwhile, Fawad Aman, a spokesman for the Ministry of Defence, in a tweet confirmed that an explosives-packed vehicle had been destroyed in Helmand before reaching the target.

On the other hand, Taliban have not yet commented in this regard.
