KABUL (Pajhwok): Turkey has provided 33 tonnes of food supplies to Afghanistan and handed over to the Afghanistan Red Crescent Society, according to a statement on Monday.
“33 tons of food supplies have arrived in Afghanistan via Torkham border crossing en route to Kabul w/ close coordination between Turkish @RedCrescent
& @ARCSAfghanistan. Turkey will continue to stand by our Afghan brothers and sisters in their time of need.”
Turkish Ambassador to Afghanistan Cihad Erginay handed over the food items to the ARCS and said rice, bean, tomato paste, sugar, cooking oil and salt included in in these items.
The top Turkish ambassador said his country would continue to provide humanitarian assistance with people affected by drought and Covid-19 pandemic.
He said the assistance worth more than $40,000 offered to by the Turkish Red Crescent Society.
