EU envoy, Gen. Bajwa discuss situation in Afghanistan

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The European Union ambassador in Islamabad and the Pakistan army chief have exchanged views on the situation in Afghanistan.

Androulla Kaminara and Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa also conferred on the regional environment, a statement from the military said.

Besides the current humanitarian situation in Afghanistan, EU-Pakistan cooperation was discussed during Monday’s meeting.

The EU envoy commended Pakistan’s role in the Afghan situation and its consistent efforts for regional stability.

She pledged to play her role in further improvements in diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations said.
