MAIDAN SHAHR (Pajhwok): The administration office of Jalrez district of central Maidan Wardak province has been operating in a girls school since last 13 years.
Now people of the district want the government to construct a building for the district administration office and hand over the school to the education department.
Sahar Gul, a resident of the district, told Pajhwok Afghan News: "Our district administration office is operated from the village school and our girls are deprived of education."
He added that the government should construct a building for the district office and police headquarters and move out of the school building.
Another resident of the area, Qari Hafizullah, told Pajhwok Afghan News: "We ask the Islamic Emirate and the Ministry of Education to make our school functional because our boys and girls are deprived of education."
Maulvi Aziz, the district education director, told Pajhwok Afghan News that government forces were stationed at the school for the past 13 years, depriving children of education.
Maulvi Safiullah, provincial director of information and culture, said that 13 years ago, Jalrez district was in Khwaja Sahib area, but the officials of the previous regime relocated the district on their own to the Bibi Ayesha school.
"We intend to bring the district office back to the Khwaja Sahib area, but its building which was destroyed during the past regime has to be repaired first,” he added.
