‘All or None’ drive launched against girls’ education ban

KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan women’s groups and networks and some social media activists have launched social media campaign — All or none — to voice their concern against the ban on girls education in Afghanistan.

Shafiqa Khapalwak, an Afghan social media activist on her twitter handle wrote that tomorrow a grand campaign to protect Afghan women’s Sharia and human rights would be launched.

She said: “Afghan girls hope that all their countrymen will listen to this voice of truth and justice. For all those sons and daughters of the country who face death but still dare to raise their voice.”

Habiba Ashna Marhon, another Afghan social media activist, published the picture of a young girls which carried caption of ‘All or none’

She said: “This sister wrote to me, she did not have much money to buy pens and write this slogan and then she sews it on a large piece of cloth. ”She asked all Afghans to participate in this drive.

Former Kabul University Lecturer Mahboob Shah Mahboob on his Twitter wrote let’s all join sisters in this drive, raise this voice and protect women from ignorance.

Gulali Safi wrote that women did not have the right to study and work but could beg alongside their brothers.

Mohammad Afzal Zarghoni wrote after this a large number of families would migrate to Iran and Pakistan for the sake of their children education.

Shams Iklas wrote it was education and knowledge that provided human being with the ability that reach highest point of creation which is worship.

Rahim Jami wrote it was proven that education is compulsory on men and women. Every individual preventing people from this compulsory act are committing big sine.

The development comes as university education and school education above class sixth is banned for girls in Afghanistan.

Acting Afghan government has recently banned women higher education nationwide that sparked national and international criticism.
