LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Security forces have arrested two persons for allegedly smuggling animals to Pakistan in the Garamsir district of southern Helmand province.
Deputy information and culture director Maulvi Mohammad Qasim Riaz told Pajhwok Afghan News on Saturday that the bid to smuggle cattle to Pakistan was prevented in Darwishan area of the district yesterday.
He said: "Security forces yesterday arrested two people who had loaded animals in a truck and wanted to transport them out of the country.”
Without revealing the number of animals, Riaz said the detainees had been introduced to the judicial organs.
Garamser borders Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and security forces had many times frustrated bids to smuggle animals to Pakistan in the area.
