KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Justice on Monday said the Land Grabbing Prevention and Restitution Commission had so far registered 2.3 million jerbs of usurped land as government property.
The commission has so far investigated 2.7 million jerbs of government land and is investigating another 3.6 million jerbs, the Justice Ministry said.
The commission is comprised of representatives of the ministries of justice, agriculture, urban planning, labor and social affairs and the public works.
Ministry of Justice spokesman Abdul Hamid Jihadyar told Pajhwok News the commission had so far examined 2.7 million jerbs of land in the whole country.
He said 3.6 million jerbs of land was currently under investigation and 2.3 million jerbs registered as government land.
He said so far more than 274000 jebs of land had been reclaimed and the rest would be wrested back soon from usurpers.
Jihadyar said the commission had expedited its work in all provinces.
