Kunduz Dasht-i-Abdan attracts scores of tourists

KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): On the eve of spring season in the country the Dasht-i-Abdan tourist area has reached the peak of its beauty which attracted thousands of people from different sections of life.

The visitors asked government and national businessmen to build more facilities and create parks in this tourist sport.

Situated 15 kilometres to the north of Kunduz City, the provincial capital, Dasht-i-Abdan attracted thousands of tourists annually.

A number of tourists said in the past most people were unable to visit this area due to security issues.

Asadullah Umarkhel, one of the residents of Kunduz, said every year on the eve of spring tourist from home and abroad arrived in Kunduz to visit this tourist spot.

“From different provinces such as Kabul, Balkh, Kandahar and even from foreign countries people arrived in Dasht-i-Abdan for sightseeing and tourism,” he said.

Aminullah, another resident of Kunduz province, asked government and businessmen to build parks and other facilities in Dasht-i-Abdan for the people.

Mohammad Anwar, head of the Kudnuz Krosho Department, who organized a wrestling event, said the organization of wrestling event forced thousands of youth to come to Kunduz and watch this event.

“People from more than 20 provinces have arrived to watch wrestling event, in the past people in current number never visited this area.”

Kudnuz Information Department Director Matiullah Rohani said security situation were improved in Dasht-i-Abdan and people could come and visit this area.
