KABUL (Pajhwok): The bidding process for extracting oil and natural gas will be set in motion soon, says the minister of mines and petroleum.
Shahabuddin Delawar said this at a meeting with officials from a Chinese firm in Kabul on Saturday, says a statement from the ministry.
Opportunities for investment in Afghanistan’s mineral resources, particularly in the oil and gas extraction sector, were discussed.
“Afghanistan has rich oil and gas resources. The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum will soon call bids for the extraction of oil and gas,” Dilawar said.
Interested parties could take part in the bidding through the ministry concerned, he added, pledging transparency in the process.
