KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Amir Khan Muttaqi and Iranian Special Representative Hassan Kazemi Qomi have discussed bilateral ties, trade, transit and recent regional developments.
Muttaqi met Omi, who is also the Iranian ambassador to Afghanistan, on topics of common interest, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
The two sides discussed bilateral relations, trade, transit and recent regional developments, the ministry added.
They also conferred on Afghanistan’s relations with regional countries moving forward. They agreed such interaction was in the interest of the entire region.
Qomi was briefed on the latest UN-convened meeting on Afghanistan in Doha. Muttaqi also spoke about the problems faced by Afghan refugees in Iran.
He urged enhanced electricity supply from the neighbouring country, progress made in the development of the Chabahar port and release of water from Kamal Khan dam into Iran.
