TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): A committee has been formed to evaluate educational documents of health workers and refer holders of fake testimonials to judicial organs in central Uruzgan province.
Maulvi Haroon Haqqani, chief of staff the governor, told Pajhwok Afghan News that a joint committee had launched the evaluation of health workers’ documents at all private and public hospitals and pharmacies.
According to him, the committee is comprised of representatives from the Public Health Department, Ulema Council, as well as Food and Drug Authority.
He added all academic certificates, degrees and activity licences of medics would be scrutinised and permission given only to qualified workers and law violators would be brought to justice.
Haqqani said step had been taken at the request of people and would be extended to all districts of the remote province.
Fazal Rahman, a resident of Tirinkot, claimed there were some workers who did not have the required educational documents. The committee should take action against non-professional individuals, he demanded.
