KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Commerce and Industry Nooruddin Azizi has met Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on the sidelines of the Kazan Forum.
Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Oleg Korobchenko and Russian Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Volvach were also present at the meeting.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) in Kabul said the two sides discussed bilateral trade, investments in power generation, mining and the Tatarstan president’s planned trip to Kabul.
Establishing a Russian trade house in Afghanistan and taking practical steps in the transit of Russian goods to Afghanistan also came up for discussion, a statement from the ministry said.
The 2024 Kazan Forum, the 15th edition, aims to offer a platform for leading international economic and financial specialists from the Islamic world to strengthen ties between the countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the regions of the Russian Federation in economic, educational, social and cultural spheres.
