KABUL (Pajhwok): The foundation stone of a primary school building which would be constructed at the personal cost of residents was laid in the Giru district of southern Ghazni province, an official said on Monday.
The residents of Daisi locality will pay over six million afs for the construction of this school building.
Education Department Spokesperson Qari Sibghatullah Ahmadi said this school was without building and residents took the initiative and laid its foundation stone.
He asked the residents of other localities to follow the footprints of Daisi locality and take steps for the construction of schools in their localities.
Abasin Daisiwal, a resident of Daisi locality, said there was an urgent need for the construction of a school building in this locality.
He said this building would be constructed this year at the cost of over six million afs.
Ziaulhaq, one of the youths, told Pajhwok Afghan News in the past no development took place for the promotion of education in their locality but now he was happy to see people taking steps for the construction of school buildings.
