Zhao Xing, Potzel talk Doha meeting on Afghanistan

KABUL (Pajhwok): Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan Zhao Xing and the UNAMA deputy chief Markus Potzel have discussed the upcoming Doha meeting on Afghanistan.

In a post on X, Zhao Xing wrote: “Great pleasure to meet with DSRSG for Afghanistan Markus Potzel and exchange views on strengthening China and United Nations' cooperation in Afghanistan.”

He added the third meeting of special envoys for Afghanistan in Doha also came up for discussion.

The meeting of special envoys for Afghanistan will be held in Doha on June 30 and July 1.

Earlier, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Amir Khan Muttaqi said the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) would announce its position on the third UN-convened meeting on Afghanistan in Doha.
