KABUL (Pajhwok): Senior officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) have underlined the need for modern education and expanding opportunities for youth.
A graduation ceremony for 1,300 Technical and Vocational Training Centre students took place at the Kabul University on Tuesday, attended by senior government officials.
Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi expressed his satisfaction with these students graduating from various technical departments.
The deputy premier foresaw their future contributions to the country's development and prosperity. He affirmed the IEA's commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for the youth.
Acting Defence Minister Maulvi Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid lamented 45 years of war had ravaged the country and hindered its progress.
He stressed the importance of integrating modern education with religious teachings, saying education and knowledge were pivotal for the nation's advancement.
Neda Mohammad Nadim, acting minister of higher education, called upon youth to demonstrate dedication to their country and contribute to people’s welfare with their professional skills.
Two graduates, Sher Mohammad and Mohibullah, expressed their joy at graduating and urged the interim government to provide employment opportunities for them.
