KABUL (Pajhwok): The attackers on employees of the Attorney General’s Office in Kabul and foreign tourists in central Bamyan province have been arrested.
In a statement, Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said key members of a “terrorist” group involved in attacks on employees of Attorney General’s Office in Kabul and foreign tourists in central Bamyan have been detained and they had come to Afghanistan from Balochistan.
The statement said special security forces conducted operations against these people in Kabul and eastern Nangarhar province.
“A Tajik citizen was also arrested who was planning to carry out a suicide attack, an explosives-filled vest, two weapons and ammunition were recovered from his hideout ,” the source added.
He said investigation showed the attackers had come to Afghanistan from a training camp of the Khorasan branch of ISIS in Mastung, Balochistan.
In these operations, two other Daesh members were killed and several others arrested in Kabul and northern Faryab provinces, including people who recently arrived in Afghanistan from the Khorasan branch of ISIS in Mastung, Balochistan, Mujahid explained.
The remaining leaders and members of the Khorasan ISIS branch had been transferred to elsewhere in Baluchistan and Khyber Pashtunkhwa provinces of Pakistan with the help of some intelligence organizations.
“From these new centers, they carry out attacks both in Afghanistan and in other countries, and also in Balochistan and Khyber Pashtunkhwa, they target religious scholars and members of religious and political groups, and in some ways, they use them for their sinister targets”.
The explosion on employees of Attorney General’s Office occurred near the building of the department in Dar-ul-Aman road on September 2.
According to police spokesman Khalid Zadran, six people were killed in the attack.
