GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Two school buildings have been completed and put into services in southern Ghazni province, an official said on Thursday.
Education Director Maulvi Nasir Ahmad Hussaini told Pahwok Afghan News the residents of Char Kala area of Muqor district had donated land for Abu Hurira and Shahid Abdul Ghiyasi schools.
He said these projects were funded by the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund and were completed in five months, costing eight million afghanis.
According to Hussaini, both schools have classrooms and administrative rooms, boundary walls, regular electricity, water systems and modern toilets for boys and girls.
On the other hand, local residents were happy with the completion of these projects.
Haji Mirza, a tribal elder, told Pajhwok earlier the two schools had no buildings and students were facing many problems.
People dedicated their land and the Education Department built buildings on them, which will mostly solve the problem of shelter, he added.
