MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) says more than 515 acres of land has been declared as government property in the capital of northern Balkh province.
In a statement, MoJ said: “The Land-Grab Prevention Commission reviewed the documents and record of the 517.5 acres of land in the Nasaji road area of Mazar-i-Sharif City and found it to be state land.”
The ministry added LGPC had previously investigated the matter concerning this land in Mazar-i-Sharif and, due to the unsatisfactory responses from occupants, formally referred the issue to a special court dealing with cases of grabbed government land in the province.
After carefully reviewing the documents and records and obtaining information from relevant agencies found the papers presented by the occupants invalid and decided the land belonged to government.
The commission is responsible for recovering government and private lands that have been usurped by powerful individuals. The process would continue across all provinces, MoJ said.
