KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Borders and Tribal Affairs (MoBTA) says a land ownership dispute among several families of the same tribe in Abkamari district of northern Badghis province has been resolved after nearly 50 years.
In a statement, the ministry said the dispute had caused serious problems and prolonged tensions between the parties.
It added that representatives of the Department of Borders and Tribal Affairs in Badghis facilitated the resolution by obtaining written authorizations from both sides and issuing a fair decision that awarded the land to its rightful owner, bringing the long-running conflict to an end.
According to the ministry, two additional disputes have also been settled: one between two families in Chahar Bolak district of Balkh province over internal matters and another between two families in Hesa-i-Awal Kohistan district of Kapisa province. In both cases, the parties have reconciled.
