Germany deports 25 Afghan migrants to Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): Germany has deported 25 Afghan migrants to Kabul on a charter flight, according to media reports.

Der Spiegel reported that the individuals departed Monday night and were expected to arrive at Kabul airport on Tuesday.

German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt confirmed the deportations in an interview with Bild newspaper.

“The systematic and standardized deportation of criminals to Afghanistan is an important part of the shift in migration policy. Those who abuse our support and commit crimes here must leave our country,” he said.

Dobrindt added that Germany would gradually expand the deportation process.

Reports indicate that most of those deported were transferred directly from prisons to the airport.

The move comes as AFP previously reported that officials from the Islamic Emirate are expected to travel to Brussels in the coming weeks for talks on the deportation of Afghans from EU countries.
